You’re part of the club

As you work on eating healthier, surrounding yourself with the right kind of support will be important. Start with your people. Share your nutrition challenges—talk about it as openly as you feel comfortable. Not only will this help you clear your head, but by hearing from others, you can sharpen your resolve to stay on target with your diet.

Next, reach out to your community. Not only are we here to help, but there are often local resources that you can use. Aren’t sure where to find those? Ask your doctor or dietitian.

Most of all, don’t let how you manage your diabetes isolate you. Share your questions, emotions, and feelings with your club.  Chances are someone nearby is dealing with something similar.

Carbs, carbs, carbs—what about them?

When you eat or drink things that have carbohydrate, your body breaks those carbs down into glucose

Fresno dentist repurposes office to help with COVID-19 testing

FRESNO, California (KGPE) – Local dentist, Dr. Ryan Dunlop is repurposing his practice to make testing swabs for coronavirus testing.

The Better Life Center is using its state-of-the-art technology — a 3-D printer designed to make dental items like dentures and implants.

“My entire staff has been furloughed or laid off,” said Ryan Dunlop, DMD, the owner of Better Life Center. “So, when the opportunity came for me to repurpose my entire clinic and staff to making 3-D printed, nasopharyngeal test swabs for COVID-19, I jumped on the opportunity.”

Dunlop and his 23 employees are the first dentistry in Fresno producing the U.S. Food and Drug Administration-regulated swabs and mask sealers.

“We’re contributing to the common good — there’s a spark in the air, there’s energy, my employees are happy to be back, I’m happy to be putting them back to work,” Dunlop said.

China Pledged to Build a New Hospital in 10 Days. It’s Close.

WUHAN, China — People desperate for treatment started descending on a new hospital that was mostly built in just 10 days to help cope with the outbreak of the new coronavirus in the central city of Wuhan on Monday.

Construction workers in hard hats, medical staff in hazmat suits, and men and women in army fatigues scrambled around the dusty site on Monday afternoon, dodging moving trucks, excavators and cranes. Workers were still trying to finish construction on the Huoshenshan Hospital — a name that means “Fire God Mountain” — even as the facility prepared to accept its first batch of patients, the official state broadcaster, China Central Television, reported.

Xue Ying, a resident of Wuhan, had driven to the new hospital hoping to find help for his increasingly unwell cousin. But city officials and signs on checkpoints have said the hospital would

The general rule of thumb is that if
