Cardi B Claims To Have Prioritized The Dentist Over The AMA’s

Taylor Swift and Cardi B both won big awards but were not there to receive them.

As fans tuned in to the American Music Awards to watch their favorite artists perform, it quickly became apparent that there were very few celebrities in attendance at this glamorous event. It certainly felt a lot different from it usually does, and the lack of fans, celebrity appearances, and media rush was definitely noticeable.

There were cut-outs of celebrities such as the wildly successful Beyonce and Jay-Z that were strategically placed in the audience as a funny way to poke at this strange awards ceremony, but no matter lighthearted they tried to make this out to be, the show lacked a lot of the star power that fans are accustomed to.

Perhaps most notable were the absences of Taylor Swift and Cardi B, both of whom won big awards but were not there to receive them. Taylor Swift had submitted a video message which was shown on the big screen, but Cardi B was completely MIA, and her reasoning is questionable.

Cardi B Ditches The AMA’s

Cardi B’s WAP album remains a pretty big deal in the music scene. There were many references to the hit song throughout the evening, inclusive of the opening scenes with Taraji admitting she just can’t pull off the WAP moves, and declaring to the viewers that it wasn’t PG enough to show on television anyway. Since the audience was so sparse, there was no opportunity for the camera to pan the swarm of celebrities for their reactions in the way we are accustomed to seeing, because that entire celebrity section was empty.

Cardi B’s absence was missed in an even bigger way towards the end of the show, when she and Megan Thee Stallion received an award for their collaboration on WAP. They won the Best Song in the Rap/Hip Hop category and fans were disappointed when Cardi B was a no-show. She didn’t take the stage to accept her award, because she was too busy…. at the dentist.

Cardi B’S Priorities Are Skewed

Celebrities miss awards shows at times, and fans eventually get over it, or at the very least, don’t question it so much. Cardi B dug herself into a deep hole when she took to Twitter to announce that she had skipped out on the huge show and wasn’t there to receive her award, all because of… a dentist appointment.

She posted a blacked out video in which fans could not see her face at all, during which time she said; “It really meant so much to me and Megan, I wish I would’ve known I was gonna get an AMA or something, I wouldn’t have f***en gone to the dentist and f***ed with my teeth, now I’m talking all crazy.” Did she just claim to have prioritized a dentistry appointment over the American Music Awards?

Fans have more questions than answers when it comes to this one. It seems that Cardi B was only interested in attending the American Music Awards if she knew in advance that she’d be taking home an award, which truly shows her level of disregard for the show, in general. It also appears that since it wasn’t very glitzy this year, she opted out. For Cardi to supposedly book a dentist’s appointment on the nights of the AMA’s seems bizarre, as most fans recognize her dentist is a friend, and she could easily have a dentist at her beck and call on any other day.

Fans aren’t impressed, and Cardi’s reputation would have fared better without this post.
