A Note to Our Community
Despite the recent expansion of Medicaid in the Commonwealth, the current
healthcare insurance landscape continues to create a gap of uninsured
individuals who face the daunting challenge of receiving access to high
quality care at a cost they can afford.
We have decided it is in our community’s best interest to suspend
the practice of pursuing legal action for unpaid bills. We are committed
to a complete re-evaluation of our entire payment process to ensure that
all patients know they have access to care. As the region’s safety
net hospital for more than 120 years, we are privileged to pledge our
unwavering commitment to our community. We are also committed to being
part of the solution to the broader financial issues facing our national
healthcare system.
